Jaysus, what kind of a hooley are we trying to organise here at all???

Well the problem might be that you and Angie get drooled on by thirty nerdy guys because you're the only two girls there. Now you might think that thirty guys sounds good, but, well, I dunno, I don't exactly see any Olympic athletes on rhpfaces.
Originally posted by marinakatombI was just thinking about the Old Ship about 1 minute before I read your post. Its big, we'll have plenty of sitting space for the old codgers if we get there early, and having spent a full Paddys day in there one year, I can safely say its fairly hard to get kicked out of. They also sell a loverly selection of flavoured absolut. Terry's Chocolate Orange is my favourite. Its a great pub.
I would suggest somewhere by the river perhaps. The Old ship in Hammersmith is nice, along with numerous others around there, but it's not so central. One thing i do know, is we have now stumbled across a problem with a centrally located location, that being that a lot of places are closed on weekends. Covent Garden will be open, but very busy and expe ...[text shortened]... noisey. We need somewhere cosy, not too much noise, but not completely dead at the same time....
I know a few of the pubs around Northcoat Rd. I reckon we'd get shot if we arrived into the Northcote with our chess boards.
How about Match Bar just off upper Regent's Street? http://www.multimap.com/map/browse.cgi?pc=W1G+0JF
Its got the most amazing champagne cocktails and top class German beer : Kolsch, and also nice bar food. There's a small area (up to 40 people? ) with tables and chairs at the back of the bar which can be reserved. And its normally very quite on Saturdays. Match Bar is my favourite London bar, but probably because they started putting £300 champagne into my cocktails after a day of drinking in there once. Only down side I can think of is that it can be quite pricey if you go on the cocktails. I've just had a look online and its gotten some bad reviews and some great reviews. Same as everywhere I suppose.
